Isuzu SD Diesel Engine

Part of Isuzu's SD engine family for heavy-duty off-road machines, the 6SD1 is a turbocharged, mostly intercooled 9,839cc inline-6 SOHC direct-injection diesel with a 120 x 145mm bore and stroke and a 15.7:1 compression ratio. It is offered at 310PS as the 6SD1-TCN and 340PS as the 6SD1-TCS, with industrial variants reaching 302kW at 1800rpm and 1,845N.m at 1500rpm, and weighs about 710kg bare. Isuzu's engineering division developed variable and optimal control technologies for this platform that earned both JSAE and JSME engineering awards, and it remains a mainstay in Isuzu heavy trucks, Hitachi large excavators, marine installations and heavy construction and mining machinery today.
