The Isuzu 3LD1 is a naturally aspirated 3-cylinder, 1,496cc indirect-injection OHV diesel engine with an 83.1 x 92mm bore and stroke and a 22:1 compression ratio, rated at 29.0kW gross and 28.0kW net at 3400rpm with 97N.m gross torque. In generator duty it delivers 13.0kW standby at 1500rpm and 16.2kW standby at 1800rpm. At 585.5 x 475 x 609mm and 132kg dry it is commonly fitted to mini excavators and air compressors, where its light weight, small footprint and simple maintenance make it a practical choice for tight job sites.
