Part of Isuzu's 4J engine family, dating to 1984 and among the highest-volume engine lines the company has produced, this compact diesel powered generations of Isuzu's light trucks and pick-ups worldwide. The 4JJ1 is the next-generation 2,999cc turbocharged and intercooled common-rail diesel with a DOHC 16-valve head and a 95.4 x 104.9mm bore and stroke, offered from 144hp with 294N.m as the Euro 3 4JJ1-TC up to 177PS with 380N.m as the 2011 4JJ1-TCX. Introduced in 2006, it powers the D-Max, MU-7 and MU-X, the N-Series and Elf, Hitachi excavators and generator sets.
