Part of Isuzu's BD engine family, produced from the late 1970s through the 1990s and valued for its oversquare, low-revving design that favors strong pulling torque and long service life over peak horsepower. The 6BD1 is a naturally aspirated 5.79L inline-6 diesel engine with a 102 x 118mm bore and stroke, rated at 103kW at 2800rpm in marine and industrial tune and up to 160PS at 3200rpm in truck form with around 382N.m of torque, used across medium-duty trucks, forklifts, generators and marine conversions and prized for long service life and strong low-rpm pulling power.
