Mitsubishi Motors is a Japanese automobile manufacturer, part of the Mitsubishi Group, which is the largest manufacturing group in Japan. The headquarters is in Tokyo. In 1970, Mitsubishi Motors was formed from the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries division.
The name of most of the company’s engines consists of four characters: three numbers and one letter between them.
The first digit indicates the number of engine cylinders: 3, 4, 6 and 8, respectively;
The second letter here is the type of fuel consumed: G, A, B, J – gasoline and D, M, N – diesel;
The third digit indicates the series number: usually the higher the number, the newer the series;
The fourth digit indicates the position of the unit in its lineup, and everything is the same here.
